Positive Anchors

POSITIVE ANCHORS

We can deeply re-connect to ourselves by re-engaging in all of our favorite activities - fun activities that we love doing.

We create positive new anchors by having positive new experiences.

Journaling afterwards to capture all the details of an experience anchors it even more deeply.

According to Anthony William (in his book titled Medical Medium), creating positive new experiences will crowd out many of the old negative experiences and help us reclaim lost parts of ourselves.

Here are some examples:

  • Hobbies - Revive old hobbies or Explore new hobbies (perhaps something we have always wanted to try or something we have been afraid to try)

  • Read all of our favorite books again

  • Watch all of our favorite shows and movies again

  • Play our favorite board and card games

  • Put a puzzle together

  • Play our favorite sports

  • Eat our favorite meals

  • Go to our favorite restaurant or cafe

  • Go out to lunch with a friend we have not seen in a long time

  • Learn a new language

  • Walk in nature

  • Garden
